Southwest monsoon rains wreaked havoc in the Northeast, Tripura

Incessant rainfall due to the effect of South West monsoon has created havoc in the state inundating large areas in the Agartala city.

The incessant rains that began since morning blocked the main arterial routes in the city, triggering traffic congestion and submerging several localities.

Normal life was affected in parts of Agartala city where numerous villages and towns were cut off from the district headquarters. Rains have swollen up the rivers in the region with road connectivity of several villages with the district headquarters cut off.

“The situation has become worse in the town. Rainwater has accumulated in the low-lying areas, leading to people moving out of their houses.

Torrential rain of the last two days led to flooding at many places in Tripura.  Torrential rain has not only hampered the daily life of a common people but has also damaged several amounts of crops and vegetables leading to huge loss for the farmers.
