State government declares school holiday due to flash floods

Keeping in view the rising threats of flash flood across the state, the state government has declared holiday for schools on Saturday. It is to be mentioned here that most of the schools are inundated under flood water and hence to avoid any casualties the state government has declared for schools on Saturday in the state.

With heavy rainfall lashing various parts of state in the past two days, water-levels in major rivers including the Gomati, Manu and Howrah have continued to rise. The authorities have issued an alert.

Many houses were submerged in the flood with disruption in daily communication and electricity supply due to the flood.

Most of the affected areas in West District are Sri Lanka Basti, Jogendranagar, Pratapgarh, Chandrapur  Radhanagar etc, according to latest report.

Boats were pressed to rescue people by NDRF and also from Disaster management authority.
