ISRO satellite launch LIVE UPDATES: Modi congratulates ISRO, says it shows bright future in India’s space programm
From the Web Desk, 12/01/2018, New Delhi

In its first mission of 2018, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its 100th satellite from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday. The mission comes a little over four months after the space agency’s unsuccessful launch of IRNSS-1H. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, congratulating ISRO for its success, said the launch signifies the bright future of India’s space programme.

President Ram Nath Kovind congratulated ISRO for its success, and called it a moment of pride for every Indian. He added that it’s a milestone for the country.

The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C40), which was undertaking its 42nd mission, hosted the ‘Cartosat-2’, a weather observation satellite and 30 other satellites — 28 of which belonged to other countries.
