Agartala , 09 Jan, 2017 :: Protesting against the note ban issue, Tripura Women Congress unit on Monday staged protest outside RBI with plates to catch the attention of the RBI authorities. It is to be mentioned here that rally walked across several parts of the street and gathered outside RBI unit to protest against demonetization.
Talking to media, member of Tripura Women Congress stated that they used plates in the rally to catch the attention of the RBI members.
Two month after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation of high-value currency notes, the country along with land locked state Tripura is still grappling with cash crunch.
Soon after the scheme was announced, there were long and serpentine queues outside banks and ATMs. One month on, people continue to deal with the cash crunch. Queues outside banks continue even as banks across public and private sectors have complained of not having enough cash to meet the people’s needs.
Even after two month hardly there is money any of the ATMs. ATMs are either running out of cash, either closed or are only supplying only 2000rs note and not even 500rs.
On November 8, when the news broke that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address the nation at 8 pm, many thought we were going to war with Pakistan. Well, a war was declared all right, but on black money. The ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes stumped the nation.
It is to be mentioned here that November 8 came as a shock to millions o people across the world. And even after two month people are still suffering.
