Agartala, 15th October 2025: Early this morning, Tripura Police recovered the body of an unidentified person from the pond of a newly constructed park near Maharajganj market. The body was first spotted by locals, who immediately alerted the authorities.
Following the report, officers from East Agartala Police Station and Golbazar Outpost rushed to the scene.
Subrata Debnath, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of East Agartala Police Station, said the body appears to have been in the water for several days. It has been recovered and sent to the local hospital for post-mortem examination.
OC Debnath added that efforts are underway to identify the deceased. No visible injuries were found on the body, though a tattoo reading “Sourav” was observed on the hand. The exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report.
The incident has caused a stir in the locality, and police have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
