Amid Omicron, Kejriwal asks people to wear masks

Quoting experts as saying that though the Omicrom variant of Corona is not so dangerous, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday that it is spreading rapidly and urged people in the national capital not to go out without face masks.
"We have made adequate arrangements in Delhi to deal with any situation," Kejriwal tweeted. "All of you are requested to go out wearing masks and prevent Corona from spreading."
In Delhi, 99 percent people have taken the first dose of Corona vaccine and 70 percent the second dose as well, he said.
He urged the Central government to allow booster doses for those who have taken both doses. "We have adequate infrastructure for this."
The Cabinet has decided that the time limit for free ration which was being given since the Corona period has been extended for six months till May 31, 2022, he said.
Kejriwal said the Delhi government was going to set up a 'Teachers University' to prepare new generation teachers. Its admission will start in the 2022-23 session and it will be run in collaboration with international organizations.
