A two-day carom competition among journalists on the initiative of Agartala Press Club has started from Tuesday. Following the chess, table tennis, ludo and two-episode cricket festival, there has been a great deal of excitement among journalists working around the carom competition from today. The first and second round matches were concluded this afternoon. The game of the final episode will start tomorrow at eleven o'clock.

A total of 24 working journalists took part in it. Club Secretary Pranab Sarkar and Sports Sub-Committee Chairman Alok Ghosh inaugurated the competition at the conference hall of Agartala Press Club. Club co-editor Ramakant Dey and convener Debabrata Chakraborty were present. The game is being managed by tournament director and senior sports journalist Suprabhat Debnath. The umpires are Prabal Niyogi, Dulal Saha, Chinmoy Debnath and Sandeep Pal. Convener Debabrata Chakraborty thanked all concerned.
