Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday visited the Yangtse post along the Indo-China border in Tawang district and addressed the Indian soldiers posted along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He also shook hands with the jawans to encourage them for guarding the frontiers in tough conditions.
Taking to Twitter, Khandu sharing pictures from his visit wrote: “Visited the Yangste post at 15000 ft near India-Tibet (China) border to meet our Indian soldiers.”
“The determination and courage of our jawans are praiseworthy who are putting up a brave front in guarding the icy heights of the border,” Khandu tweeted.
Yangtse was in news in the recent past when the Indian and Chinese troops were reportedly engaged in a face-off along the Line of Actual Control in Tawang sector early this month.
The face-off happened between the border pass of Yangtse and Bum La when the Indian Army intercepted around 200 soldiers of Chinese PLA and the engagement reportedly lasted for a few hours before the issue was resolved at a local commander-level talk.
The Chief Minister said it was “a pride feeling to be with our soldiers, to meet and interact with them”.
“We are safe at our homes because our jawans are keeping strict vigil at the borders foiling any nefarious attempts by the enemy,” Khandu said in another tweet.
He also visited the Yankee-1 border post near the international border.
During the visit, the Chief Minister was accompanied by top-ranking state government officials, including Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar and Planning Commissioner Prashant Lokhande.
