Kushal Zaveri is a well-known TV director who started his career with his debut serial 'Pavitra Rishta, which turned out to be a hit. Since then, Kushal has also worked on other popular Biopic series like 'Swami Ramdev- Ek Sangharsh' which was produced by Ajay Devgn FFilms, among many others. After dabbling into TV soaps, he entered in a completely new zone with 'Gumrah' of Channel V, for which he drew inspiration from Anurag Kashyap's way of storytelling and filmmaking.
Recently, Kushal directed a web series named 'Crashh', the promo of which is out now. People seem to be loving it and are eagerly awaiting the release of the series.
In an interview, Kushal spoke on the hardships that a TV directors has to endure due to labeling, “I am very excited for 'Crashh' since this is my first web show. It's really hard for a TV director to get a web show because of the stereotyping we face in the industry. For TV directors, it's no less than a task to change that image and do something huge like a web show, that too immediately after the lockdown. I would like to thank Ekta Ma'am and the whole team of Balaji for guiding us and giving me this amazing opportunity.”
Speaking about the story, he said, “The one thing that I found to be special about this story is that it is based in Mumbai. It is realistic and not filmy, which is refreshing.”
When Kushal was asked about his cast members, he said, “I thoroughly enjoyed working with these guys. I have worked with Rohan on 'Gumrah' but all the others were new to me. The overall performances of Rohan, Anushka Sen, Aditi Sharma, Kunj Anand, Zain Iman, and Raza was amazing. I feel that each one of them played their role fantastically.”
On the work front, Kushal is planning to do an independent film for the OTT platform. It will be a situational comedy and will most likely be out by May or June.
