Cycle rally in Hamirpur to mark Golden Jubilee of 1971 Liberation War victory

Hamirpur Superintendent of Police Dr Akriti Sharma on Tuesday flagged off a cycle rally to mark the Golden Jubilee Year of the Liberation War victory.
On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, the Hamirpur police also remembered those armed forces personnel who laid down their lives for the country.
Earlier, Squadron Leader, Manoj Rana, Deputy Director, Zila Sainik Welfare Office on Tuesday pinned the flag of Armed Forces to SP Dr. Aakriti Sharma, Additional District Magistrate Jitendra Sanjata and other officers and employees of the District Headquarters.
On this occasion, contributions were also collected from these officers and employees for the welfare of the brave soldiers and their families.
The Deputy Director said that Armed Forces Flag Day is dedicated to the brave soldiers of the Army, Air Force and Navy who were martyred or disabled while defending the motherland.
He said that Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated every year for the welfare of brave soldiers and their dependents. On this day, money is collected from the people by presenting the flag. This amount is used to help the families of martyr soldiers and disabled soldiers.
