First consignment of COVID-19 Vaccine arrived in Tripura

The First consignment of 56,500 COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Tripura on Wednesday. The first consignment including 5 cartons of COVID-19 vaccine consisting of 6000 vials arrives at Agartala MBB Airport this morning.
Talking to the media, National Health Mission Director Siddhartha Jaiswal stated that the first consignment consisting a total of 56,500 vaccines arrived in the state this morning and the district wise allocation of vaccines will be initiated by today evening. Proper mechanism will be followed during the district wise distribution of the vaccines, he added.
It is to be mentioned here that the first phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive is expected to start by January 16 with health care workers, frontline workers and the elderly. Reportedly, the Centre has announced January 16 as the day for rollout of the long-awaited vaccine, which got the drug regulators' approval last Sunday.
