Govt to prepare master plan for all panchayats: Giriraj

Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh said that the centre was contemplating to prepare 25 years master plan for every panchayats of the country for sustainable development and to generate other resources as well as employment. While talking to the newspersons in the BJP office on Sunday, Singh said that the centre has decided to take effective steps for the empowerment of Panchayats and to make them a vibrant body under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav mission. He said that the country has to attain the target for consistency in development under vision 2047 of the United Nations and maintained that the government has decided to attend the target by the year 2030. The Minister said that 25 years master plan to be prepared in coordination with the state governments would make home loans easy at the village level. Under the plan, the emphasis would be given on basic infrastructure, development as per the local requirement, employment generation and promotion of resources of the panchayats, he added. Singh said that with strong willpower the developmental schemes can be successfully implemented at the Panchayat level for which he stressed the need to bring a change in the mentality. The Minister elaborated in detail about the initiatives of his department towards employment generation at the rural level, provisions made for self-help groups and steps taken for the construction of basic infrastructure. The Minister appealed to create a WhatsApp group of panchayats with Panchayat representatives as members for better interaction. He also asked the state government to deploy Lokpal in every district.
