A mild earthquake measuring 3.6 cm on the Richter scale occurred near Vellore early this morning.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) in its website said that the quake occurred at 4.17 a.m at a depth of 25 km and 59 km West-Southwest of Vellore. Reports received here said there were no reports of any damages or casualties.
