Former Australian cricketer Shane Warne on Friday said tennis world no 1 Novak Djokovic is entitled not to be vaccinated but his country too has the right to send him back.
"Novak is a great tennis player and one of the all time greats. No doubt. But he’s lied on entry forms, been out in public when he knew he had Covid &and is now facing legal cases.
"He’s entitled to not be jabbed but Oz is entitled to throw him out ! Agree?" Warne tweeted.
Djokovic on Thursday was included in the Australian Open draw despite uncertainties over his stay in the country.
Immigration Minister Alex Hawke was reported to be considering using his discretionary power to revoke visa of Djokovic, who is bidding for a record 21st grand slam title.
Vaccine-sceptic Djokovic has admitted to entry form error, and outing while being Covid positive leading to question mark whether the Scott Morrison government would cancel his visa again.
However, on Monday the Serbian won the bid to remain in Australia after the judges ordered his immediate release from the immigration detention.
Following his release, the Serbian posted a photo on Twitter with the caption: "I am pleased and grateful that the Judge overturned my visa cancellation. Despite all that has happened, I want to stay and try to compete the Australian Open."
"I remain focused on that. I flew here to play at one of the most important events we have in front of the amazing fans," he added.
