The Madhya Pradesh Government decided on Sunday to rescind an ordinance presented recently regarding conduct of panchayat elections and a proposal to this effect has been dispatched to the Governor.

“Further action is the prerogative of the Raj Bhavan and then the State Election Commission,” Home Minister and government spokesman Narottam Mishra told the press here after a Cabinet meeting.
