Royal scion and ex-Congress President Pradyot Kishore Debbarman’s TIPRA(Tripura Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance) got new life as two more political parties TSP (Tipraland State Party) and IPFT Tipraha, although small in strength, gets merged into TIPRA that from now would be known as Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance. TIPRA, which had started its journey as a social organization now turned into a full-fledged political party with the support of parties like TSP, IPFT Tipraha and INPT (Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra). TIPRA Chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Friday announced the development and said that 95 percent of the political parties are now with him and the fight for the issues like implementation of NRC, fight against CAA and demand of greater Tipraland, a development council for the indigenous people of Tripura would be strengthened. He said, in a meeting it has been decided and another big announcement is underway as the IPFT (Indigenous People Front of Tripura), ally in the present BJP-IPFT government in Tripura is also likely to extend support to this greater regional alliance. On being asked about his issues, he said, the first and most significant demand of this alliance would be to have a greater Tipraland which literally means a development council for the indigenous people of Tripura staying in different parts of the world. His motive is to bring all the Tiprasa people to bring under one body so that social and cultural bonding can be strengthened more, he added. Describing his motive, he referred to the global platforms like Biswa Bangla and greater Mizo council and sought to clear his stand that his call of greater Tipraland was not against any particular community or ethnicity and there were no scope of discrimination with anyone.
