Seven Rohingyas held in Delhi bound Rajdhani Exp from Agartala

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) on Wednesday detained seven Rohingyas from Delhi bound Rajdhani Express left Agartala on January 11.
A press release from the Northeast Frontier Railway informed that on duty Train Superintendent of the 02501 Agartala – New Delhi Rajdhani Special train was performing his duty after getting on the train from Guwahati on January 12.
During checking of tickets and supporting ID proofs of passengers he got suspicious about few passengers who were travelling in coach no B7 of the train. The Train Superintendent served a memo for checking of the suspicious passengers by appropriate police authority.
“On the basis of the memo, RPF and GRP teams of New Jalpaiguri checked the train when the train arrived at New Jalpaiguri at about 13-40 hrs yesterday. They found that 03 Male, 02 female along with 05 infants of doubtful citizenship are travelling. They were immediately de-boarded from the train at New Jalpaiguri station. During inquiry they disclosed that they belong to Rohingya community and boarded the train from Agartala station on 11th January”, the press statement informed.
It also informed that they crossed over to India on 10th January from Comilla on Bangladesh side to Sonamura on the Indian side and boarded train from Agartala with the help of an agent. They all fled away from Kutupalong camp located in Cox’s Bazar of Bangladesh.
All the arrested persons were handed over to GRP/New Jalpaiguri for appropriate legal action.
