Three injured in separate accidents at Khowai

On the day of Makar Sankranti at least three accidents occurred in separate locations of Khowai.
The first incident took place at around 3.15 pm at the southern end of the bridge adjacent to the East Ramchandraghat TSR headquarters under Khowai police station. Jotirmoy Das (40), a resident of Jambura village in Khowai, was riding a motorbike to Teliamura. A reckless speeding Maruti Wagnor car coming from the opposite direction had hit the motorbike.
The bike rider Jotirmoy Das fell off the bike. He was seriously injured. He was rushed to Khowai District Hospital by the fire brigade and shifted to GB Hospital, Agartala. Police brought the motorbike to the police station. Police have registered a case. Police are also searching for the car.
The second incident took place in Chebri Bazar area under Khowai police station at around 3.30 pm. Chandra Mohan Debbarma and his wife Reena Debbarma from Gaurangatila were returning to their home in Tulashikhar on a scooter. A man was crossing the road from one end to the other on a bicycle at Chebri Bazar. At that time when Chandra Mohan put break, his wife fell from Scooter and received injuries on head. She was rushed the district hospital. It is learned that she will be referred to GB Hospital for CT scan on Saturday.
According to the third report, One Nihar Debbarma (38) was returning home from Chebri Bazar in Tulashikhar on a motorbike after intoxicated. The bike lost control in front of the local Satsang Ashram and collided head-on with a tree. The injured were rushed to Khowai District Hospital. He is undergoing treatment.
