Tripura Electronics Media Society meets Minister Sushanta

A delegation of Tripura Electronics Media Society met the Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and handed over a memorandum. The memorandum reiterated the demand for allocating a minimum of 51 per cent of government advertisements, judging by the reality for the hugely popular TV news outlets reaching out to large numbers of people in every corner of the state of Tripura. They also demanded to pay the arrears of advertisement bill of all types of classified and display advertisements are also requested to be allocated for TV News Media. It also demanded that all homeless journalists should be provided with permanent accommodation, health insurance, government press stickers and a series of government-sponsored workshops. Officials of the Tripura Electronics Media Society hope that the competent leadership of the state's Information and Culture Minister Sushanta Chowdhury will try to meet these insignificant demands. In a cordial discussion, the Minister also expressed sincere sympathy for the demands and assured to take timely steps. In today's deputation, delegation included Surajit Pal, Achintya Bhuiyan, Manish Saha, Ranjit Debbarma, Hanif Ali, Soumen Dev and Kamal Jamatia.
