The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) has finalized the voter list of 28 constituencies in the district council.

The secretary of the election commissioner of the district council said this in a press release. According to the published final list of voters, there are 8, 65,041 voters in the council. Of these, 4, 36,548 are male voters and 4, 28,490 are female voters and there are 3 other voters.

Earlier on March 26, the state deferred general elections of the district council ‘indefinitely’, which expired its tenure on May 17 and appointed an administrator under the Governor considering alarming situation in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor's administrative control was extended for six more months in November.

Tripura People's Front (TPF), a local tribal political party has filed a writ petition with the High Court, seeking clarification from the government why ADC polls are not being held and when the elections would be conducted. The High Court later directed the state government to hold the poll within May 17 this year.
