Agartala, 5th January 2025: A fire broke out on a picnic bus in Tripura’s West District, leaving 11 people injured following a reported generator blast. The incident occurred in the Jagatpur Chowmuhani area, while the picnic party was returning from Baas Gram, a popular tourist spot.
According to the police, the group had traveled in three CNG-powered buses. The fire erupted in one of the buses when the generator exploded as they were heading back to Champaknagar. The Additional SP confirmed that 11 people suffered from smoke inhalation, and one person sustained minor burns.
All the victims were promptly rescued and transported to a nearby hospital. Doctors reported that the injured are in stable condition after receiving treatment.
