Agartala, 5th November 2025:   The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) convened its 7th Gokulnagar Local Conference this afternoon at the residence of a CPI(M) worker near Rabindranath Thakur Mahavidyalaya in Bishalgarh.

The event saw the presence of Partha Pratim Majumder, a former student leader from the Bishalgarh division, DYFI Bishalgarh President Pranoy Sinha, and Secretary Hirannmoy Narayan Debnath, among others.

The conference began with a floral tribute at the local martyr column, honoring fallen comrades. This was followed by the main session, where speakers delivered scathing critiques of both the state and central governments.

In their addresses, leaders accused the ruling BJP government in Tripura of coming to power through deceptive promises and manipulative tactics. They alleged that since assuming office, the BJP-led administration has systematically eroded citizens’ fundamental rights and suppressed dissent.

Highlighting widespread grievances, the speakers pointed to the deteriorating condition of rural roads, a severe shortage of doctors and healthcare workers in government hospitals, and an alarming lack of teachers in schools—factors they said are crippling the state’s education and healthcare infrastructure. They also raised concerns over rising unemployment, with educated youth reportedly scrambling for jobs across the state.

The leadership further claimed that the BJP government has fostered a climate of lawlessness and chaos, likening the current state of governance to a “jungle raj.” They also remarked that internal factionalism within the BJP has turned the party into a subject of public ridicule.

Concluding their remarks, the leaders expressed confidence that the people of Tripura are preparing to oust the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections.
