Agartala, 16th December 2025: Residents of Nadilak under the 16-bishalgarh assembly constituency had been suffering for months due to a broken culvert lying in the middle of a key road. The damaged structure made walking difficult and vehicular movement extremely risky.
Local sources revealed that construction work on the road had been completed only recently, but within a month the culvert collapsed. Despite repeated complaints to the Public Works Department (PWD), no effective action was taken for a long time.
Amid this prolonged hardship, a remarkable act of humanity emerged. Abdur Rahman, Principal of Jamia Madania Darul Uloom, Rautkhala Madrasa, and Imam of Agartala Town Mosque, took the initiative to rebuild the broken culvert entirely at his own expense.
His selfless effort has brought relief to the local community, ending their long-standing ordeal. Residents have widely praised Rahman’s humanitarian gesture, calling it a rare and commendable example of public service.
