Agartala, 5th February 2025: Union Home and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah today emphasized the significant strides taken by Tripura under BJP rule since 2018. He stated, “Since the BJP came to power in 2018, all the armed opposition parties in Tripura have surrendered and returned to the mainstream.” Shah highlighted the transformative impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership on the North-East, noting, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the North-East is moving towards development at a rapid pace.”
Shah lauded the provision of jobs to 2,806 nominated candidates, asserting, “Today, by providing jobs to 2,806 nominated candidates, a developed Tripura has taken another step forward towards building a developed India.”
In his speech, Shah remarked, “Today is a day of change in Tripura’s era. In the past, during the CPI(M) era, to get a job, the unemployed had to register in the party’s cadre. Only then would they be given jobs. But, the Tripura BJP government led by Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha has provided jobs to 2,806 people while maintaining transparency.”
Discussing peace initiatives, Shah mentioned, “Three agreements were signed to restore peace in Tripura under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. All major armed groups have surrendered, and Bru refugees, previously deprived of basic amenities, are now being rehabilitated with access to healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities.” He pointed out the shift in the North-East, saying, “The North-East, once plagued by insurgency, infiltration, blockade, drug and arms smuggling, is now known for development, connectivity, infrastructure, education, investment, and agriculture.”
Highlighting the state’s progress, Shah stated, “Tripura has transformed from landlocked to land-linked. A modern airport, improved road connectivity, and water conservation initiatives have driven rapid development.” He asserted that BJP rule has brought unprecedented progress, claiming, “The seven years of BJP rule have surpassed the incremental progress of the Congress and CPI(M) rule.”
Reflecting on the recruitment process, Shah said, “In the past, party affiliation was required for government jobs. But Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has introduced a transparent, merit-based election system. The goal has been taken a step further.”
The event was attended by prominent figures including Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das, Cooperatives Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Brishaketu Debbarma and Chief Secretary JK Sinha.
During the event, offers of appointment were distributed among candidates nominated by JRBT for the posts of Pharmacist (Allopathy, Homeopathy, and Ayurveda) of the Health Department and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) in various state government departments.
