Agartala, 4th September 2025:  Members of the Amra Bangali Party took to the streets today in North Tripura staging a protest march and public rally to press for long-standing demands concerning the Bengali community.

Organized by the party’s North Tripura district committee, the demonstration led by its members and workers carried banners and flags while chanting slogans. Protesters voiced concerns over what they described as years of neglect toward the socio-political and cultural issues faced by Bengalis in the state.

Speaking at the rally, leaders of Amra Bangali urged the government to take immediate steps to safeguard the rights of the Bengali population residing in Tripura. “The community’s social, cultural and political rights must be protected without delay,” one leader stated.

Demonstrators burned an effigy bearing the image of former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, accusing past leadership of ignoring their grievances. The event drew a sizable crowd, reflecting growing discontent among sections of the population.

Speakers warned that if their demands remain unmet, the organization will escalate its movement in the coming days. “This is just the beginning. We are prepared to launch a larger agitation if necessary,” one protester declared.
