Agartala, 23rd December 2024: The Faculty of Management & Commerce of the ICFAI University Tripura started new short-term skill development courses on GST and e-Filing from 23rd December, 2024. An inauguration program was organized on that day at 11 AM in the Auditorium of the University. The courses introduced under the sponsorship of Directorate of Skill Development Department of Industries &Commerce, Govt. of Tripura under the project of ‘Mukhya Mantri Dakshyata Unnayan Prakalpa’.
The program inaugurated by Animesh Debbarma, Minister of Forest, General Administration (Printing & Stationery), Science, Technology & Environment, Government of Tripura as Chief Guest and Prof. (Dr.) BiplabHalder, Vice-Chancellor of the ICFAI University Tripura.
The main objective of those skill development courses was to enhance the understanding of GST and e-filing procedures and to equip the participants with valuable skills on that area with necessary practical training. After the warm felicitation of minister Animesh Debbarma, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Biplab Halder delivered the welcome speech and explained about the importance of skill development courses for the students as well as the present generation. He also urged about the vital role of such courses in career building.
While delivering the address as chief guest, minister Animesh Debbarma expressed his heartiest thanks to the ICFAI University for taking such initiatives of providing skill training to the youths. He said that knowledge about GST & e-Filing is required for all in present era. He also stated that the manpower and machine technology needs to be work together for developing the country economy. Presently the companies are opting skilled manpower from Day-1 onwards of employment and such skill will definitely create some opportunities for the unemployed youths of the society. He explained about crucial aspects of technological advancement with emerging technologies like AI.
The inauguration program was come into an end by the vote of thanks of Dr. A. Ranganath, the Registrar of the University and afterward started the practical sessions. The University marked a significant milestone in providing skill education with the launch of such specialized courses.
The comprehensive training program includes dedicated modules for both GST and Electronic Income Tax Filing, designed to create a skilled workforce aligned with industry demands. The whole programme is coordinated by Dr. Sujit Deb, Dean, Faculty of Management & Commerce of the University.
