Agartala, 30th July 2025: Bagma Agri Producer Company Ltd. (BAPCL) organizes a one-day programme today at its office premises in Bagma, Gomati District under the Tribal Development Fund (TDF) project of Killa RD Block, with support from NABARD. The initiative aims to strengthen the health and agricultural well-being of tribal communities in the region.
The event witnesses the participation of key dignitaries including Jitendra Majumder, Hon’ble MLA, Kakraban–Salgarah; Khokan Dey, District Development Manager, NABARD for South & Gomati Districts; Sudip Majumder, Chairman and Managing Director, BAPCL; Md. Farukul Islam, CEO, BAPCL; Dr. Soumik Chakraborty, District Health Officer, Gomati; and Dr. Dhruba Das, Medical Officer, Tripura Sundari Hospital.
The programme begins with a Health Camp, where more than 200 TDF beneficiaries from Killa RD Block receive free medical check-ups and consultations. Dr. Soumik Chakraborty conducts an awareness session on health, hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care, drawing strong participation from women, senior citizens, and other community members. The initiative receives an overwhelmingly positive response from the local tribal population.
Adding an innovative touch to the programme, renowned magician A.K. Nandi presents a magic show on financial literacy. Through engaging tricks and storytelling, he spreads important messages on financial planning, savings, and smart money practices, delighting and educating the audience at the same time.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Jitendra Majumder praises the collaborative efforts of BAPCL and NABARD in empowering tribal communities. He urges farmers to utilize the provided resources efficiently and to work towards collective self-reliance. Khokan Dey, DDM of NABARD, reiterates the organization’s commitment to holistic rural development by integrating support across agriculture, health, and livelihoods.
The programme concludes with a vote of thanks delivered by Sudip Majumder, CMD of BAPCL. He expresses heartfelt gratitude to NABARD, the medical team, attending dignitaries, and participating farmers. He also reaffirms BAPCL’s commitment to the sustainable development and well-being of tribal communities in Tripura.
