Agartala, 11th October 2025 : West Bengal has become the epicenter of autocratic governance in India, alleged BJP Tripura spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty during a press conference held earlier today. He launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing the party of turning Bengal into a “jungle raj” and attempting to destabilize Tripura through political interference.
Chakraborty claimed that several TMC leaders from West Bengal had recently visited Tripura with the intention of creating unrest. “Their conspiracy to malign the image of the Tripura government failed miserably. The people of Tripura did not entertain their disruptive agenda,” he said.
He further asserted that the TMC’s actions reflect a broader pattern of authoritarianism in West Bengal. “Across India, Bengal stands out as a breeding ground for autocracy under TMC rule,” Chakraborty stated, adding that the BJP, in contrast, believes in democratic governance and public accountability.
Highlighting the lack of grassroots support for TMC in Tripura, Chakraborty said, “TMC has no organizational base here because the people have rejected them. The BJP government does not endorse the culture of autocracy that prevails in Bengal. Ours is a government of the people, and the citizens of Tripura are firmly in favor of development. TMC will never find a foothold here.”
