Agartala, 8th July 2025: In the aftermath of the reported gang rape of a student at Kolkata Law College, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) formally submitted its fact-finding report to party national president JP Nadda. The report was handed over by former Tripura Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb alongside members of the party’s fact-finding committee constituted to examine the incident.
Unveiling the report to the public, Nadda accused the West Bengal government of systemic failure in safeguarding women and maintaining law and order. “This document exposes the grim reality of a complete collapse of governance in West Bengal. The administration has shown shocking indifference to women’s safety,” he alleged.
Drawing parallels with previous controversies, Nadda added, “From Sandeshkhali to RG Kar Hospital, and now this harrowing incident at a law college — the pattern remains unchanged. The state government’s silence, inaction, and its tendency to shield the accused are deeply troubling.”
According to senior BJP leaders, the party plans to escalate its protests in West Bengal, demanding swift justice and the immediate arrest of those responsible for the brutal assault. Internal sources suggest that state-wide demonstrations and legal interventions are under consideration.
