Block-level TB awareness programme held in Ampi

Date:

Amarpur: Feb 11. Ampi Community Health Centre (CHC) organized a Block-Level Tuberculosis (TB) Awareness and Screening Programme at the Ampi Nagar Community Hall in Gomati district. The event drew a large gathering of CHC staff, block and panchayat authorities, and local villagers, all actively participating in the initiative.

The programme was inaugurated by Pathan Lal Jamatia, MLA of the 41-Ampi constituency, in the presence of several distinguished dignitaries. To further spread awareness, the CHC also arranged a mega rally and cyclothon, which saw enthusiastic participation from youths and school students.

Speaking at the event, Ampi CHC in-charge Dr. Milan Bhakta Jamatia emphasized the importance of awareness campaigns in combating tuberculosis. He noted: “TB awareness programmes are essential to alert people about the deadly consequences of tuberculosis. The disease primarily destroys lung tissue, leading to severe pneumonia, respiratory failure, or massive bleeding. If it spreads to other organs, it can cause fatal organ failure. To save lives, awareness campaigns must be conducted in every block of the state.”

Among the notable attendees were Norbahadur Reang, SDPO Ampi; Shakti Sadhan Jamatia, OC Ampi; Sindhu Chandra Jamatia, Ampi Block BAC Chairman; Ruatfela Darlong, BDO Ampi; along with other officials and community leaders.Amarpur: Feb 11.
