Agartala, 18th November 2024:   A border thief cut off two fingers of a man who resisted an attempt to steal cows in the Pahormura area of Khowai. The incident took place late at night when a gang of Bangladeshi cow thieves, armed with sharp weapons, raided the village.

The thieves targeted the cowshed of Dilip Biswas, a resident of Pahormura Madhyapara. Upon realizing the theft, Dilip alerted his brothers and relatives. Ranjit Biswas (35) rushed to help but encountered the thieves, who attacked him with knives, severing two fingers on his left hand.

The gang fled across the border, escaping in front of the BSF. Ranjit was taken to Khowai District Hospital and later shifted to GB Hospital. The incident has sparked anger against the local BSF, with residents criticizing their failure to prevent the thieves from crossing the border and committing the crime.
