Agartala, 12th March 2026: The Border Security Force (BSF) 199 Battalion organized a civic action programme today at the Manu Valley TE School ground under Chandipur assembly constituency in Unakoti district. The initiative aimed at strengthening ties with border residents and promoting social welfare.
The event was attended by DIG Rakesh Sinha (Panisagar Sector), Commandant Atul Saini, and Second-in-Command B.D. Saha. Local children and young artists presented cultural performances, adding vibrancy to the programme.
A large number of residents, students, and community leaders from border areas participated. Essential items worth nearly Rs 7 lakh were distributed among underprivileged families. Free health check-ups and medicines were also provided.
BSF officials emphasized that such programmes are regularly conducted to foster goodwill, raise awareness about border security, and support the welfare of local communities. They noted that these efforts help build mutual trust and cooperation between the force and civilians.
Local residents welcomed the initiative, stating that it benefits the poor and strengthens the bond between the security forces and the people. The event concluded in a disciplined yet festive atmosphere.
