CM Dr Manik Saha inaugurates Dhaleswari festival and blood donation camp

Agartala, January 23: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the Dhaleswari festival and a blood donation camp at the Blue-Lotus Club in Dhaleswar here on Tuesday. The festival was organized to mark the foundation day of the club, which has been serving the community for years.

Dr. Saha praised the role of the club in solving the problems of the people in a neutral and impartial manner. He said that the club’s work reduces the burden on the government and earns the trust of the people. He also urged the club to elect its secretary president democratically and to come out of the culture of fear and violence that prevailed in the past.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of blood donation and said that Tripura is one of the leading states in India in this regard. He said that science has improved, but there is no substitute for blood. He stressed the need to balance the supply and demand of blood and said that one blood donor can save four lives.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by social workers Rajib Bhattacharya, Nabendu Bhattacharya and others. They visited the blood donation camp and encouraged the blood donors. The Dhaleswari festival will continue till January 26 and will feature various cultural and social events.
