Addressing at the inaugural ceremony, Dr Saha said “IGM Hospital was always known as BM Hospital. Earlier, there was an initiative to demolish this hospital then this decision was cancelled after getting the verdict from the High Court. During that time, AGMC was not there and every big operations and surgeries were done here. Here in this hospital, two departments- Obs and Gynaeo, and Paediatric. Later various departments started in this hospital. I also worked in this hospital when Dental department started here. IGM hospital is a state hospital.”

Accusing the previous government without taking names, Chief Minister said that the construction of the two buildings is improper as there is no ramp which cannot be possible to open a hospital. “However, I called upon the Health Secretary and asked him about the status of new buildings in the premises of IGM hospital. If the proper planning and designing would have done, then the building would have utilized more equipped manner. However, I told the Health secretary to make sure that the proper utilization of buildings are being done here. The departments which are opened and functioning in this hospital must be immediately replaced in the new buildings. And every work has to be immediate as in my dictionary, I want immediate results.”

“Among the 22 Oxygen plants across India, this is one of them constructed in the IGM Hospital premises here. For this, I am thankful to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It’s true that the COVID pandemic appeared, many diseases disappeared”, he added.

Citing the relationship between paramedical staff and patients, Dr Saha said, “It is an utmost necessity to impart knowledge in building and developing good relation with the patients by the paramedics. Apart from this, people have to be made aware about the significant facilities available in the hospitals of Tripura.” He urged the doctors, nurses and healthcare workers to gain the confidence of common masses whosoever is visiting the hospitals.
