Agartala, 13th January 2026:   Kailashahar witnessed a vibrant road march today as the Congress Seva Dal organized a rally from the Sanghati Mela Ground in Padmer Pahar area. Carrying the national flag, party workers and supporters marched through key parts of the town, spreading messages of peace, harmony, and unity.

Pradesh Congress president Asish Kumar Saha, Congress Legislature Party leader and MLA Birajit Sinha, Unakoti District Congress president Md. Badruzzaman, the state Seva Dal president, along with several district and block-level leaders were present.

Addressing the gathering after the march, PCC president Saha noted that the three-day training camp of the Seva Dal in Kailashahar, which began on January 11, concluded today. Nearly 500 Seva Dal workers received training during the camp. He emphasized that such initiatives are crucial at a time when divisive and communal provocations are rising across the country.

Saha accused the BJP and its ideological parent RSS of deliberately fueling religious frenzy to disrupt social harmony. He asserted that the Congress, under the leadership of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, has launched a nationwide movement to safeguard the Constitution, democracy, and national unity.

Referring to recent incidents of violence in Unakoti district and other parts of the state, Saha condemned attacks on religious places, homes, and vehicles, which have left people living in fear. He criticized the state government for its silence on compensation and legal protection for victims, and strongly denounced the administration’s alleged biased handling of the Fatikroy incident.

The rally also raised demands to protect the MGNREGA scheme. Saha announced that the “Save MGNREGA” campaign against central government policies is already underway and will continue until February 25. He pledged that the Congress will intensify its struggle across the state to defend the rights of rural workers, women, farmers, and laborers.

Saha affirmed that the Congress Seva Dal will remain active in safeguarding peace and communal harmony in Tripura. The spontaneous participation of local residents in today’s road march, he said, reflects the people’s support for unity and social solidarity.
