Agartala, July 25, 2023: The Communist Party of India (CPI) observed ‘Manipur Solidarity Day’ across the nation. As part of this initiative, Tripura State Council of CPI also commemorated the day in front of the Junu Das Bhavan, the party’s state headquarters in the capital city on Tuesday. CPI workers held flag processions to mark the occasion.
The significance of this solidarity day resonated as they called for immediate restoration of peace in Manipur. The party demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Biren Singh and urged the Prime Minister to address the issue of Manipur without delay. They also stressed on a comprehensive discussion in the parliament on this matter.
Speaking briefly during the event, CPI state secretary Dr Yudhishthir Das, Assistant Secretary Milan Baidya, and Farmer Leader Rasbihari Ghosh expressed their views on the solidarity day. CPIM leader Tulsi Das Kappali, Joya Biswas, Manoranjan Tripura, and Bibhas Bhattacharya were also present during the meeting.
The observance of ‘Manipur Solidarity Day’ served as a platform for the CPI to unite in support of their fellow citizens in Manipur and raise their voice for peace and justice in the region.
