BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 14th January 2026:   The Cycling Association of Tripura is set to host a two-day Cycling Festival on January 17 and 18, 2026 at Astabal Ground, Agartala. The special program, titled “Cycling for All – Joy, Health & Awareness”, aims to encourage family participation, health consciousness, and an environmentally friendly lifestyle among the public.

The festival will feature three inclusive segments designed for different age groups. The Slow Cycle Race will be open to men and women aged 16 and above, with a senior category for participants aged 45 and older; unlike traditional races, it will test balance, patience, and control rather than speed, requiring riders to stay in their lane without touching the ground with their feet. The Toddler Baby Cycle Group will provide a safe and fun activity for children aged 2 to 6 years, allowing the use of balance bikes, tricycles, or bicycles with support wheels, with guardians permitted to walk alongside; this segment will be festive and non-competitive. The Awareness Cycle Rally will welcome cyclists of all ages, emphasizing discipline and safety with mandatory helmets, while participants carry placards promoting health, fitness, environmental protection, and safe cycling practices.

Safety, discipline, and social responsibility are the festival’s top priorities. Participants must bring their own bicycles and ride at their own responsibility. Organizers believe the initiative will strengthen Agartala’s cycling culture and inspire families to adopt healthier, more active lifestyles.

The last date for registration is December 16, 2026, and interested participants may contact the Cycling Association of Tripura at 7005313981, 9612869567, or 9863720335 for further details.

The announcement was made in a press communique by Gopesh Debnath, Convenor of the Tournament Committee, Vice President of the Cycling Association of Tripura, and Fit India State Cycling Ambassador.
