Agartala, July 30, 2022: With the financial support of the Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB), Vana Mahotsav and tree planting ceremony was held at Dharmanagar’s Northpoint Class XII School on Saturday. North Tripura district’s District Education Officer Sudip Debnath inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp at 10:30 AM on Saturday.
Chairman of Paschim Chandrapur Gram Panchayat Jhuma Sutradhar was present as the chief guest on the occasion. North Point Class XII School’s Management Committee chairman Dr Rajat Bhattacharjee, Secretary Debamoy Bhattacharya, Academic Director Dipankar Gupta, Administrator Kapil Bhattacharjee, Principal in-charge Debasish Bhattacharjee and others were present.
The opening dance was performed by the schoolgirls at the beginning of the program. After that, the founder of the program and the DEO Sudip Debnath emphasized on the Vana Mahotsav and tree planting ceremony. The other luminaries and students discussed the relevance of tree plantation and various songs and dances were performed by the students.
It should be noted that the school authorities took a two-day program focusing on this Vana Mahotsav festival. Drawing competition and quiz competition were held among the students of the school on Thursday last as part of it.
During this festival and tree planting ceremony held on Saturday, the guests presented prizes to the students who participated in the drawing and quiz competitions. At the end of the program, everyone present along with the DEO participated in tree planting in the school premises. The two-day Vana Mahotsav was completed with a grand ceremony.
