Agartala, 14th February 2026: Growing dissatisfaction is being voiced among a section of BJP workers and supporters in the Jolaibari Assembly constituency over what they describe as organizational weakness. Many allege that under the leadership of current Mandal president Sujit Dutta, the party’s organizational strength has steadily declined due to a lack of political foresight and managerial skills. As a result, several long-time workers have become inactive and withdrawn from party activities.
Workers claim that since the new Mandal president assumed charge, there has been little initiative to strengthen the party’s grassroots base. Complaints include irregular communication with local workers, absence of organizational meetings, and lack of visible programs. This has reportedly led to frustration among party cadres and, according to some, has created space for opposition forces to regain ground in the region.
Comparisons have been drawn with former Mandal president Ajay Reang, who was known for maintaining close contact with workers and standing by people in their times of need. In contrast, the current leadership is accused of being less accessible, with some alleging that reaching the president after 9 p.m. has become nearly impossible.
Meanwhile, party sources highlight that local MLA and minister Shuklacharan Noatia continues to work tirelessly for the development of the constituency. From the hills to the plains, he has been implementing various development projects with the aim of transforming Jolaibari into a model constituency. Some party leaders are said to be actively supporting his efforts.
Despite this, concerns remain among grassroots workers and voters about the state of the organization. With the upcoming ADC elections, many believe that strengthening the party’s organizational base is crucial. In this context, workers and supporters have reportedly appealed to the Chief Minister and the state BJP president to reconsider the matter.
