Agartala, 25th February 2026: Manik Saha on Tuesday said he has spoken with Nayab Singh Saini regarding the alleged brutal assault of a biotechnology student from Tripura at a paying guest accommodation in Gurugram.
The student was reportedly attacked by her live-in partner, triggering serious concern in her home state. Dr. Saha stated that the Haryana Chief Minister has assured him of personal intervention in the matter to ensure a fair and swift investigation.
“Today, I spoke with the Chief Minister of Haryana regarding the Gurugram student assault case. He assured me that he will personally oversee the matter and ensure that all necessary steps are taken to deliver justice,” Dr. Saha said.
The Tripura Chief Minister also spoke with the victim’s mother and extended the state government’s full support to the family during this difficult time.
“I have assured the victim’s family of all possible assistance from the Tripura Government,” he added.
Dr. Saha further informed that he has directed the Chief Resident Commissioner at Tripura Bhawan in Delhi to remain in close contact with the family and provide necessary support. At his request, Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy visited the hospital to assess the situation and offer assistance.
Additionally, the Chief Minister has coordinated with the office of the Union Health Minister to ensure that the victim receives the best possible medical treatment.
