Agartala, 1st February 2025 : In a tragic incident on Friday, the owner of a mobile shop in the capital’s GB Bazar allegedly assaulted an employee and removed his mobile SIM card, before the employee’s body was found hanging in a secluded area near ILS Hospital.
The accused owner Partha Saha is currently absconding. Reportedly, Rahul Acharya, who had been employed at the mobile shop for four years, had a dispute with Saha over an undisclosed issue. Following the altercation, Saha allegedly beat Acharya and removed the SIM card from his mobile phone.
Unable to contact Rahul, his family became concerned and later found his hanging body in a secluded area adjacent to ILS Hospital. Upon receiving the information, NCC police station officers arrived at the scene and sent the body to the GB Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Shankar Acharya, the father of the deceased, expressed his grief and confusion over the incident. “I cannot understand why my son was beaten and why he chose this path of death,” he said. He demanded strict punishment for the accused shop owner.
The body was handed over to the family after the autopsy on Saturday afternoon, leaving the family members devastated and in tears. The police are currently searching for the absconding Partha Saha as the investigation continues.
