Agartala, 22nd November 2025: Farmers in Paschim Noagaon have been left without water for irrigation for the past six months after a pipeline burst, despite the installation of irrigation machinery in the area. As a result, winter vegetables and field crops are drying up, leaving cultivators in a dire situation.
Local farmers allege that repeated complaints to the authorities about the damaged pipeline have gone unanswered. Without timely irrigation, crops are withering in the fields, threatening their livelihoods.
“We have the machines, but there is no water. Farming has been completely disrupted,” said one farmer, expressing frustration over the negligence of the concerned department.
The prolonged disruption has sparked growing anger among the farming community, who are demanding immediate repairs to the irrigation system. Farmers warn that if the issue is not resolved quickly, the region could face significant crop losses in the coming season.
