Fire Breaks Out in shop inside Aitorma Mall, No Casualties Reported

Agartala, 16th February 2025:   A fire broke out at Aitorma Mall in Agartala city on Sunday afternoon, causing panic among visitors and staff.

The incident occurred in the office of a private company on the third floor of the mall. However, swift action by the mall staff and firefighters helped avert a major disaster.

According to eyewitness accounts, flames were suddenly spotted on the third floor, prompting immediate alerts to the fire brigade. The mall security personnel and employees quickly responded, attempting to contain the fire before firefighters arrived at the scene.

Upon receiving the alert, firefighters rushed to the spot and assessed the situation. An employee of the private company stated that the fire alarm was triggered promptly, allowing the mall’s security team to take immediate action in controlling the fire before the firefighters conducted further inspections as per protocol.

Preliminary reports suggest that the fire was likely caused by a short circuit, though the exact reason is yet to be confirmed. The extent of the damage remains undetermined, but fortunately, no casualties have been reported.

Local authorities and fire officials have lauded the quick response of the people present, crediting their prompt action for preventing what could have been a major catastrophe. Further investigations are underway to assess the cause and impact of the fire.
