Four women held with cannabis at Agartala Railway Station

Agartala, 15th January 2026:    Railway police detained four women at Agartala Railway Station after recovering cannabis from their possession during a routine search.

Police sources informed that the women were stopped on suspicion due to their unusual behavior during regular checks. A subsequent search led to the recovery of cannabis.

The detainees have been identified as: Jasmine Debbarma (26), resident of Karbook, Abi Debbarma (21), resident of Champaknagar, Rani Debbarma (39), resident of Mandai, and Eva Debbarma (19), resident of Mandai.

Police said the exact quantity of cannabis seized is being verified, and further investigation is underway to determine possible links to wider networks. Authorities confirmed that legal proceedings are being initiated in connection with the case.
