Agartala, 8th July 2025: The state government today announced that all government departments, undertakings, and offices will function normally tomorrow.
This clarification came after ten labour organisations, including CITU, called for a nationwide strike on the same day. In an official order, Debjani Deb Sarkar, Joint Secretary to the Government of Tripura, stated that in supersession of the department’s earlier memorandum, the nationwide general strike initially scheduled for 20th May 2025 has been rescheduled to 9th July 2025 by the All-India State Government Employees’ Federation.
“The All-India State Government Employees’ Federation, in consultation with affiliated bodies including the Tripura Employees’ Coordination Committee (H.B. Road), has communicated the decision to defer the general strike to 9th July 2025. Consequently, all government departments, undertakings, and offices will operate normally on the revised date of the strike,” the order read.
It further stated that all Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Special Secretaries, and Heads of Departments are requested to take note of the revised date and ensure that the information is widely disseminated among all employees under their jurisdiction.
“A report regarding employee attendance on 9th July 2025 must be submitted to the General Administration (AR) Department by 12:00 noon on the same day, either through the email address or by post,” the order added.
