Group-D merit list to be released on September 07-08, Key cabinet decisions announced by Sushanta Chowdhury

Agartala, 31st August 2024:   The Group D merit list conducted by the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT) is set to be released on September 7-8, announced Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury during a press conference at the Secretariat today.

In a series of significant announcements, Minister Chowdhury detailed several key decisions taken during the recent cabinet meeting. “The salary of Special Police Officers (SPOs) in the state has been increased by Rs 12,000,” he stated. This decision will result in an additional financial burden of Rs 2 crore 48 lakh 58 thousand 369 rupees on the state government.

Furthermore, Minister Chowdhury revealed plans for new appointments in the police force and the tourism department. “We will be appointing 916 new police constables under the Ministry of Home Affairs,” he said. “Additionally, 51 positions will be filled in various posts under the Department of Tourism. The necessary approval from the finance department has been obtained for these appointments.”

Addressing the recent natural calamities, the minister highlighted the severe impact of floods in the state. “The damage due to the severe floods has escalated to approximately 18,000 crores,” he informed.

In another significant move, the cabinet has approved a salary increase for pump operators working in Agartala Municipal Corporation and other Municipal Council areas. “The salary for these operators will now range from 7,000 to 7,500 rupees,” Minister Chowdhury announced.

These decisions reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to address various administrative and developmental challenges in the state.
