Agartala, 23rd February 2025: Intense panic has swept through Ward No. 3 of Gobindapur Panchayat following a horrifying armed robbery late last night. A group of armed assailants forcefully entered a residence, taking the homeowner and his son hostage at gunpoint, before making away with a substantial amount of gold, silver, and cash.
The chilling incident took place at around 3 am when a gang of robbers targeted the home of Sadhan Deb, a well-known resident of Gobindapur. The assailants broke through the door and, within moments, had guns pointed at the heads of Sadhan Deb and his son Sagar threatening them with lethal violence if they made any noise. The assailants also inflicted physical torture upon the victims.
Sadhan Deb recounted the terrifying ordeal, stating that the robbers were clad in army uniforms and had their faces obscured by black cloths. Armed with guns and batons, the robbers swiftly ransacked the house, seizing valuable gold, silver, and cash before fleeing the scene.
Upon receiving the distress call, officers from the Churaibari Police Station, along with a contingent of Tripura State Rifles (TSR), rushed to the scene. They were joined by Subdivisional Police Officer B. Zorinpuiya, Assistant Superintendent of Police Jeremiah Darlong, and Superintendent of Police Abhinash Rai. A detailed investigation was immediately launched, and a forensic team has been called in to gather crucial evidence.
The brazen robbery has sparked widespread fear and anger among the local residents. The police force is diligently working to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for this alarming crime. The authorities have assured the community that every possible measure is being taken to ensure the swift capture of the perpetrators.
As the investigation takes place, the residents of Gobindapur Panchayat remain on edge, hoping for justice and the restoration of their sense of security.
