Agartala: July 23. In a shocking incident, a hotel owner from Bishalgarh tea garden has been accused of illegally held captive and abusing a young man named Kundan Kumar from Hajipur, Bihar who used to work in the hotel.

Kundan had been working at Gobinda Das’s hotel for the past two and a half months.

According to the details of the incident, five days ago, Kundan Kumar requested his employer, Gobind Das, for some money to return home. Instead of fulfilling his employee’s reasonable request, Gobind Das took advantage of the situation and confined Kundan to his residence in what can be described as a house arrest.

During his alleged captivity, Kundan Kumar claimed to have endured severe physical abuse at the hands of the hotel owner. He alleged that Gobinda Das brutally beat him for the past three to four days, leaving him with visible injuries.

Adding to the horrific ordeal, Kundan was reportedly denied any access to food during the three-day confinement. As if the situation couldn’t be worse, Gobinda Das demanded an exorbitant ransom of Rs 5 lakh from the helpless young man.

Fortunately, early Sunday morning, Kundan Kumar managed to escape from Gobinda Das’s house using an opportunity through Kanchanmala. He made his way to the auto stand located at Sekerkot tea garden, where he sought help from auto workers. Realizing the severity of the situation, the auto workers immediately reported the matter to the local authorities.

The Amtali Police Station, in conjunction with the Superintendent of Police of West District, were informed about the incident. Swift action was taken, and the Bishalgarh Police Station conducted a rescue operation to free Kundan Kumar from captivity. They safely brought him to the police station, where he was given medical attention and assistance.

Police sources have confirmed that appropriate legal actions will be taken against the hotel owner, Gobinda Das, in accordance with the law.

As of the last update, arrangements are being made to provide support and assistance to Kundan Kumar, including facilitating his return to Bihar safely.
