Human skeleton found hanging from tree sparks panic at Gandacherra

Agartala, 29th January 2026:   A wave of shock and panic swept through the Japanpara area of Gandacherra after locals discovered a human skeleton hanging from a tree this morning. Residents immediately alerted the police upon spotting the remains.

Police and administrative officials from Gandacherra police station rushed to the scene and recovered the skeleton. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death, which remain unclear.

Initial police suspicion suggests the remains could belong to Surya Mohan Das, a carpenter from North ADC Village’s Japanpara, who has been missing for nearly three months. However, officials stated that confirmation can only be made after post-mortem and forensic examination reports are received.

The incident has triggered widespread fear and tension in the locality. Police have intensified their investigation to uncover the truth behind the mysterious death.
