IT dept felicitates personalities in Health and Social Welfare sectors

Agartala, October 12, 2022: The Income Tax Department, North East Region on Wednesday felicitated different personalities for their relentless contributions in Health and Social Welfare sectors at Pragna Bhavan here.

Speaking to media persons here, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax department Shyamal Datta said “As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on the occasion of 75th year of India’s independence, this programme of felicitating health care sector professionals and NPOs in social work in Tripura has been organized. Doctors, nurses, para-medical staff and other workers in Health sector are working immensely to provide better treatment to the people of the state. The Income Tax department took this initiative.”

“Along with this, we are also felicitating four non-profitable organizations (NPOs) which are working significantly in supporting the Old Age homes and Orphanages across the state by providing financial assistance and distributing essential commodities time to time”, he added.

The personalities include- 7 doctors, two nurses and two laboratory technicians while the NPOs include- Abalamban Society, Harijan Sevak Sangha, Tripura Council for Child Welfare, and Biswajit Debnath, who runs four homes at Bishalgarh, Amtali, Gokulpur and Udaipur, said Datta.
